Cheap, good hotels in midtown manhattan are around 150 a night. Try the roosevelt, hotel pennsylvania, and others that you can probably find on travelocity or priceline.
As far as CommonCents goes, they obviously didnt check the website, the doesnt exist, and checking the red roof in by their real website, you will find that the cheapest room they have there is 139.99

The bad ones are expensive.
