Best time day of the week to go to Field Museum in Chicago?

I’m thinking of going to Chicago in early April to mainly go to the Field Museum.

When is the best days to go to avoid the crowd, and how many days is enough to spend there to see the whole museum?

Any good hotels at a faily reasonable price near walking distance to the museum?

How safe is the area?

Any other museum I should visit while I’m there?

Plan to spend 3-5 days I think.

    The hotel is best western grant park hotel is fairly safe the adler planetarium and catch the roosevelt cta train station if you can walk one block south to jewel target walgreens the south to buy citypass it includes admission to several attractions you can walk one block south to roosevelt bus or the free trolley.
