I am planning a trip to Atlanta, Georgia in April. I would like to stay close to the Georgia Dome without paying $100+ per night. Any suggestions for a nice economy hotel? I would also be interested in any accomodations that would be outside of town but would have access to public transportation. What about good places to eat that the locals know about?

I always recommend the Wingate Inn at Six Flags. Its only 3 yrs. old and about 10 minutes from downtown Atlanta. They have a free full breakfast, swimming pool, jacuzzi, courtesy shuttle, all for less than 100.00 per nite.
