What are some great, yet inexpensive hotels in the Seattle, Washington area? I am not looking to stay at the Hilton or Westin. I like a hotel that is reasonable, but nice, clean and convenient to shops and restaurants.

I don’t know the area very well, so where would be the best area to stay… downtown, southbeach, or some other part? We’re probably just gonna shop…hang out at the beach…sightsee(if there’s anything to see) and have some fun nights out. Right now we’re thinking of staying at the Fountainebleu hotel… is that a good area/hotel? How’s the transportation in the area?
